Although neither got to compete on Senior Day, the influence of
Che Chengsupanimit and
Jim Coiley was all over the Muhlenberg wrestling team's 33-20 win against Penn College.
Described as "keepers of the flame" by head coach
Shaun Lally during a prematch ceremony, the two seniors were lauded for keeping the team together during some difficult years of transition early in their careers. The Mules now have a flourishing program with 17 freshmen and sophomores, several of whom contributed to the win in their final dual match of the season.

Chengsupanimit picked up a forfeit win at 157, much to the delight of his fans
(pictured at right), and Coiley could not compete due to injury. His replacement at 165, sophomore
Will Lamb, took his opponent down just 15 seconds into the bout and pinned him with 1:25 elapsed.
It was the fastest career pin for Lamb and the fastest by a Mule on the day - by four seconds. In the first contested bout, freshman 133-pounder
Patrick Sockler pinned his opponent in 1:29.
Forfeit wins by freshman Kash Calderon (141) and sophomore
Jake Gordon (174), combined with a 3-2 decision at 184 by senior
Zach Goldrosen (who has a year of eligibility left), gave Muhlenberg a 33-9 lead before the Wildcats took the final two bouts.
Freshman
Robert Armus, returning from injury to compete for the first time since December, scored two reversals and a near-fall in his bout but eventually lost, 15-8.
